In recent action, the index is down around 46 points, or 2.4%< at 1,876. The Dow industrials were off by more than 400 points in early action. The blue chips remain down 359 points, or 2.1%, at 16,020. The Nasdaq Composite is off 124 points, or 2.7%, at 4,491.
