Neil Heywood trial: Bo Xilai’s wife has ‘confessed’ to killing British businessman
The wife of China’s fallen political star Bo Xilai has confessed to killing British businessman Neil Heywood last November, a senior prosecutor on the case has told Hong Kong’s leading newspaper.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post the anonymous source – who was reportedly part of the prosecution team investigating Mr Heywood’s alleged murder – said Gu Kailai had also admitted “economic crimes”.
Mrs Gu, who is the wife of Mr Bo, the former party secretary of Chongqing, is expected to go on trial for murder this Thursday in the city of Hefei, around 240 miles west of Shanghai.
